Red Wine - La Ginestra, Anfora Sangiovese 2020
Sangiovese from Salivolpe, Tuscany, Italy
La Ginestra, established in 1978 in Tuscany, practices organic and biodynamic agriculture. Spontaneous fermentation, minimal sulfur use, and no filtration. This is one of their more elegant and serious wines. Sangiovese is aged and fermented in clay amphora.
Wonderfully velvety tannins, rich red fruits, spice and black pepper on the palate with just the right amount of funk to keep things cheery.
La Ginestra is spread over approximately 100 hectares, located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, on the Tuscan hills in the province of Florence. The farm was founded in 1978 by a group of young enthusiasts who took over and settled on these uncultivated lands, with the aim of renewing and maintaining the Tuscan countryside. Organic certified since 1989, their practices of farming are sustainable for the soil and the entire ecosystem.
We stayed for a couple of nights at the agriturismo and enjoyed various cuvee and some beautiful meals based around food grown on or near the farm.
Type: Wine - Red
Notes: You must be over 18 years of age to order and pickup wine. Our licence number is LIQO660036430
